Hujan.............

Semalam panas lebih kurang 36 darjah....teriknya Ya Allah....membakar kulit. Walaupun aku and the kids hanya berada di dalam rumah sepanjang hari, tapi kulit kami dah bertambah gelap....

Cuaca panas terik macam ni membuatkan mata mengantuk dan malas nak buat kerja satu benda pun....

Alhamdulillah pagi ni hujan mula turun. Telah hampir 2 minggu aku di sini, inilah kali pertama hujan turun pada musim panas ni. Hujan taklah selebat mana tapi irama hujan di luar begitu menyejukkan hatiku. Hembusan angin dari Sungai Swan menyejukkan tubuh badan dan sekaligus membuatkan mata kembali mengantuk....

Ishh...macam mana ni...panas mengantuk...sejuk pun mengantuk???? Itu semua alasan tak nak buat kerjalah tu.....hehhehe

Happy New Year!!!

We had dinner at Clifftop with few good neighbours while waiting for the countdown. So Pat cooked seafood bbq for everyone. But silly me i forgot to snap photos during dinner because busy gossiping with Betty, Linda and Bob. Later that nite, Ron and Marlene joined us.

I realised that people in Perth are not really into celebrating Christmas or New Year. I mean they rather have dinner with family and friends at home. Well, that's what happened in South Perth and I have no idea whats going on at other places. Perhaps the young people enjoyed clubbing.

If in KL, we can watch fireworks at KLCC, Sunway Lagoon or Dataran Merdeka. But in Perth, only Burswood (the Casino) decided to do the fireworks. Normally there are no fireworks at all except during Australia Day.

From Clifftop apartment, that's where I live, we enjoyed watching fireworks with family and friends.

Cottesloe, Perth

Tak sempat nak update aktiviti menjelang tahun baru.

We went to Cottesloe for few hours before New Year. Cottesloe or kalu pronounce in Malay Kote Slow...hehhee....adalah satu tempat untuk mandi manda....alah...macam kat PD tu ler....tapi suasananya lain ler sikit....Kalau mandi manda kat PD tu penuh dengan orang pakai baju T and seluar legging...kat sini ramailer minah salleh yg pakai bikini kecuali aku...kikiki..tak sesuaiiiiii........




Anyway, dengan cuaca yang panas dengan suhu lebih kurang 35 darjah, suasana di pantai sangatlah best sampai bebudak ambik chance nak mandi laut, tak reti reti nak naik...bila dah naik badan menggigil-gigil



We came here last 2 years for picnic but tak sampai 10 minit berendam dah terdengar alarm sound...ada JERUNG....suspected the SHARK yang makan orang sehari sebelumnya.... so this time we were so lucky coz dapat berendam selama 2 hours....then the kids surrender...tak nak mandi lagi sebab dah sejuk sangat walaupun cuaca masih panas.











Beside than Cottlesloe ada few more beaches. Cuma Cottlesloe yang paling sesuai untuk family picnic. Kalu rasa-rasa nak BERBOGEL di pantai, kat sini pun ada NUDE BEACH.....ada berani??? hehhehe

Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's summer in Perth!!! 40 degree celcius????...wa lau wehh....

Landed at Perth International Airport at 5.15am on Xmas morning....being an avid traveller..(cheh avid traveller konon)...actually ada hikmahnya....the imigration officers let us through without scanning our bags....the only question that they asked was "Do you bring any food or milo?"... macam tau-tau plak anak aku minum milo hari-hari....of coz jawapannya "NO!" then she smile sweetly and let us pass.... not like other passengers from malaysia or other tourist...they have to queue for another 15 minutes so that the officer can scan their bags...so if you all nak masuk aussie ni..kenalah declare ubat, makanan, cenderamata and etc..etc seperti yg terdapat dalam incoming passenger card..if not...kalu diorg find out you all ada bawak barang tapi tak declare, sediakan aje duit nak bayar compound....

So...on the first day we arrived, just lepak at home...the kids tido daripada sampai rumah sampailah ke maghrib...penangan ubat selsema...

On the second day...it was a Boxing Day!...So kalu ada plan nak shopping...this is the best time to shop in australia...p lah mana-mana part in australia..sydney, melbourne, perth semuanya ada 'MEGA SALE"!!! Memang price giler-giler murah...diorang kat sini sanggup kumpul duit dari awal tahun sebab nak shop during Boxing Day and after Christmas... mmg retailer buat MEGA SALE!!! Diorang sanggup queue seawal pukul 5 pagi!!!!!! Gila sungguh diorang ni...

Aku pun adalh shopping sikit sikit...habis jugaklah ratus ratus..hehhehe..

Western Australia Maritime Museum

Just a walking distance from Fishing Boat Harbour, is the location of WA Maritime Museum. You'll be surprised that there is a huge submarine outside the Museum. Wait! don't go there yet!!!! You need to purchase tickets from the counter in the main building. Actually there are 2 section. You can either explore the submarine or you can choose to visit just the main building. The tickets for 2 adults and 2 children (family package) is AUD50.00 or per person AUD20.00. They sell tickets separately for submarine section and the main building section.





We decided to explore only the main building. Sometimes there are arts exhibition in the museum and it's free. You can see the local designers new design and art works. But since we are not an arts fan,this section are very boring. Whoops...sorry guys...

If you love marine life, adalah a bit of stories pasal ikan dugong, ikan paus dan macam-macam ikan lagilah. Ikan dalam tin pun ada sejarahnya. Kalu nak tengok sperm ikan paus yang real punya pun ada kat sini.







Banyak model-model kapal yang terdapat di sini seperti Fremantle First Lady ni.







As for the kids, they will love this place as they can pretend to navigate the ship. Just a simple activities but they will enjoy it!

Fishing Boat Harbour

Jomler kita berjalan-jalan di Fishing Boat Harbour pulak. Watch fresh seafood being unloaded from the fishing boats ready to export or local despatch all year round from this port.




Bila dah berjalan-jalan tu mestiler perut terasa lapar pulak kan. Mailah singgah sebentar di Waterfront di mana terletaknya restaurant yang mempunyai pemandangan yang menarik seperti di San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. (kata orangler..aku pun tak sampai lagi ke San Francisco hehehhe).




Dalam banyak-banyak restaurant, Kailis Fish Market Cafe (www.kailis.com) was voted best fish and chips restaurant. Memang sedap fish and chips kat sini. Beside fish, bolehler order sotong, udang, mussle dan ketam. Side order like thousand island, mayo, sour cream, mash potato and etc..di jual berasingan.





Kalau tak suka makan ikan macam anak aku Jazz, boleh gak order chicken and chips. Harganya reasonable. Kitorang hari tu makan untuk 4 orang termasuk air adalah dekat AUD80.00.


Kalau dah kekenyangan sampai tak larat nak habiskan makanan, gua nak bagi WARNING sama korang. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS! Ada banyak burung Seagull di merata-rata ceruk negeri. Burungnya cantik macam burung merpati tapi amatlah bahaya terutama kepada anak-anak kecil yang tengah makan kudap-kudap. Silap-silap disambarnya makanan yang tengah dipegang. Kekadang burung ni akan kejar orang yang ada makanan di tangan.



Nilah dia burung Seagull. Kekadang dia terbang terlalu rendah jadi kenalah berhati-hati takut kepala tu dicakar dik kuku burung ni yang tajam. Selalu pastikan makanan di atas meja tu diperabihkan ataupun terus buang dalam tong sampah yang disediakan.



Apa-apa hal pun JAGALAH KEBERSIHAN !

Fremantle

Once in Perth, you must go to Fremantle! If you dont go to Fremantle, it's like eating nasi lemak without the sambal. Ngeh..ngeh.. ngeh..

Fremantle is a working port, host to a big fishing fleet as well as container ships and large cruise vessels. Zaman dulu-dulu, kapal-kapal yang membawa ramai migrants terutama dari Sri Lanka dan India akan berlabuh di sini. Nama-nama migrants yang mula-mula sampai disini ada terpahat di luar Muzium Maritime. Actually masih ramai lagi migrants especially from Sri Lanka datang ke sini naik kapal but now the authority dah tak nak bagi diorang ni datang, so these people terpaksalah berumahtangga dalam bot yang diorang naik dan kapal diorang berlabuh di luar pantai Australia tetapi bersempadan dengan Indonesia iaitu di perairan antarabangsa. Now diorang ni dikenali dengan nama "Boat People".



There are lots of old buildings around here and many of the buildings have been painstakingly restored. I passed by the old Fire Station which they turned it to be a restaurant but i forgot to take the photo. Sigh! Anyway, there are always something happening around the town - festivals, street performances, art and photography exhibitions.




You can catch a train from Perth train station to Fremantle at Platform 7. Purchase family day ticket which only cost you AUD9.00 for 4 person (2 adults 2 childrens). Just use the same tickets if you need to travel by bus on the same day. Keep the tickets until you get home. Or else just pay for the normal tickets price.

If you like to cruise then jump on board with Captain Cook Cruises. You can enjoy views that you can only see from the river - magnificent riverside homes, famous yatch clubs, the Old Swan Brewery and Kings Park. Kekadang dolphins melompat-lompat sebelah kapal mengiringi perjalanan ke Fremantle atau dari Fremantle.




Things to do in Fremantle.

1. Lepak minum coffee along the famous `cappuccino strip'.
2. Bawakler anak-anak ke Time Zone iaitu tempat main machine games and other indoor games.
3. Berpicnic di taman yang berdekatan, so jangan lupa bawa bekalan dari rumah.
4. Kalu malas nak berpicnic, boleh try the best fish and chip n town di Fishing Boat Harbour.
5. Setiap Sabtu dan Ahad ada street performance berdekatan dengan Fremantle Market.
6. Buah-buahan segar, souveniers dan makanan halal dan murah terdapat di Fremantle Market.
7. Melawat Muzium Maritime, Arts Gallery dan Penjara Lama.
8. Bersantai di tepi pantai.









Kalau nak stay one nite or two nites kat Fremantle pun bagus gak. Dapatlah tengok suasana di waktu malam. Boleh ler try THE GHOSTLY TOUR yang diadakan every friday night. Ada berani?
